Cord Wrapped Threads

Here is another example of wooden threads being enhanced with a fiber cord material. The pin was made to have the cord material added or included. Notice the groove cut into the side of the thread area as well as across the top of the wood designed to receive the cord. I believe this material was used both for cushioning and tightening the insulator onto the pin. This is a 1 3/8" diameter pin.
