M-2785 (big crown ) late redesigned and improved type gutter (1902-03 )and M-2796 ( 1900-1901)early type gutter. Both were Cat #318 with a porcelain base. The top of the early type was known to fail from fractures at the collar causing the top to separate from the base. Also the crowns of these early ones would sometimes break free from the insulator body causing the line conductor to float free! This is VERY BAD when the line is operating at 45,000 Volts!
