Small white glazed porcelain Indoor fuse holder usually mounted near a light switch. Also has some distant family resemblance to some older style, pre-modular jack US telephone connection boxes.

It mounts with a screw which passes through the center, the wiring access from below, then connects to the brass terminal strips and screws. I would imagine that it takes a bit of skill & courage to replace a blown fuse-link in one of these...
