I'm unsure when this photo was taken but I am assuming some time in the 1920s. In those days the electric companies were very active promoting new electrically operated appliances and related gadgets! All of this soon required line and other system upgrades! This photo was taken by the Edison Electric Illuminating Company of Boston. This company became Boston Edison in the 1930s ...(now NStar Electric...and with a Gas Division within the past few years). The entire kitchen photographed appears to be all-electric...however I'm not sure about the water heater in the corner (I recall as a kid those looking like that as gas-fired). But it surely could have been an early electric model. Note the heating-coil stilts on the electric range on the right!
