Two insulators that are still in service are the 102 Brookfield described as "mint, but we call it VVNM" that has a index finger chunk of glass out of the lower wire groove and the HGCO 151 described as having "a small factory stone in the upper lip that caused a factory NGM small star in the glass on the rear side, other that that it is VVNM". If this thumb size bruise and pinky size chunk of glass out of the WG was done in the factory, they probably used rocks and BB guns to align the insulators on the annealing line. Neither cost much, but I paid a lot more than they were worth. I keep them still in service as a reminder that I would rather see the damage in person at a show or buy from sellers that I have learned to trust.
