Old fire hydrants were among "street furniture" back in the old days just like telephone, telegraph and electric poles were. With fire hydrants you had to look down to see them, instead...not up! I could not resist showing this great photo here on ICON... just the same.!! FYI...I have a couple really old fire hydrants among my outdoor displays here which nicely complement my open-wire lines, old street lights, etc. And they look great, I've got two of them and I fully restored them.
