Open Wire pole equipment

These filters, coils and protectors mount on open wire crossarms. These were salvaged from Nevada, and although easily classified as "junk", they do tell an interesting story about the challenge of transmitting long distance telephone over open wire. Carrier systems such as these are basically extinct. Pictured here is a Lynch filter, used to extract voice channels from the carrier system (any carrier experts, correct me if I'm wrong) Thanks
