As you may have heard, Kansas City and most of the Midwest was hit by a severe ice storm at the beginning of February, 2002. There were widespread power outages throughout the area - some were without power for over a week. I took a few photos of the power lines and poles around my home & work. This is a shot of the 12KV line, with transformers outside my workplace. The ice accumulation on the lines is over an inch!
