Here's a pole that caught my attention because of the CD 107 Whitall Tatum and Armstrong insulators on it. These were obviously replaced at some point by the porcelain cable tops -- but then they appear to have been left at the top of the pole, off the pins but still attached to the main wire they used to insulate!

I've never seen this done before -- does anyone have any idea why they'd do that? Or was someone just being lazy?
