I acquired this pin from Nathan Lamkey who was kind enough to bring it to the Rohde Ranch Tailgate. A lot of work went to making this piece. It starts out with your standard wooden side pin. The top threaded portion is cut off and bottom portion is drilled to receive a steel shank Western Union style metal pin threaded to receive a standard thread wooden cob. The threaded area is a clear resin poured onto the metal pin. So, was the wooden side pin portion shaped specifically for the steel pin? Was the wooden cob missing from the steel pin? Has anybody seen this pine style before? Any other specimans of jury-rigged pins or brackets?
