Here is a book I read flying out and back from California. It was interesting, informative and good reading. This is the story of the race to build a 14000 mile telegraph through British Columbia, Alaska and Siberia all before a cable could be laid across the Atlantic. This read will make you want to book passage to Siberia and look for all those insulators that were delivered but never erected. The price for this book and all the info contained is $20 plus shipping to the U.S. or Canada. I should mention that the book is in excellent condition. I didn't spill a thing on it!
