Telegraph Special Relays

These relays were used for special purposes such as automatic repeaters on very long lines. They have multiple contacts and or coils and were usually used in pairs or quads. With special circuits, it was possible to have four different communications at once (2 each direction) on a single line, using various types of these relays. The relay at the lower right is a standard polar relay - Western Electric version.
