When I originally built the line I didn't have the right cross arms so a single heavy arm was used. After recently aqiuring the right arms and wood braces this project could be completed. The new arms were shortened to six ft and re-drilled along with the braces, hardware and bond wire installed. On last Sat, the removal of the single arm dead end started. The pin type insulators were removed, conductors slacked off, suspensions removed, old arm stripped of hardware and removed. Then the process was reversed for installation of the new arms and older insulators. This is usually a three person job, two on the pole and one on the ground but ended up as a one person project. Needless to say I was glad when it was finished.
