California Glass Guidance: What is Wrong with the California Crosstop?

This California crosstop has been physically altered by gluing a CD 208 top to a CD 152 bottom. The telltale signs of fraud are:

1) The embossing looks all wrong for a crosstop. Embossing should be taller and prismic. 2) The upper and lower wire ridges should line up perfectly on the vertical line. They are askew. 3) Cuts can be difficult to hide in glass, so the cut is usually made in the wire groove where the alteration is less noticeable. The top and bottom were less than perfectly mated. If you look close enough, you will notice a thin gap in the lower part of the wire groove.
