Wall tube/floor tube glass insulator

A "floor tube" insulator that was removed over 40 years ago from the wall of an old ghost town building in California. The "nut" end of the tube turned deep purple, clearly showing that it was exposed to the exterior wall of the building. Even though the early supply catalogs describe these as "floor tubes", it seems the term "wall tube" would be equally acceptable.
