California Glass Color Guidance: Rare Aqua vs. Less Scarce Blue Cal CD 152

Here is a side-by-side comparison of a rare aqua "square dome" California hoopskirt, CD 152, on the left. Note the larger, more squarish dome and the shoulders on the skirt. This is the standard mold type listed in the McDougald price guide. On the right, is the unlisted "taper top" mold variant in blue. Note the more slender dome and the lack of shoulders on the skirt. The aqua one is much more scarce than the blue taper top. The aqua one was found at the convenience store at Jack Rabbit Run in Arizona. The store owner salvaged the AT&SF line between Winslow, AZ and the New Mexico state border.
