Interests: I've been collecting glass insulators since the early 1990s. The hobby is addictive and enjoyable. The best parts of collecting are meeting people and learning more about the history behind the glass companies, telegraph companies, etc. By profession, I was a director of information technology and computer programmer with a strong electrical engineering background. I'm now retired. I was the author of the Price Guide for North American Glass Insulators producing the 2011, 2015, 2019, & 2023 editions. Visit: www.InsulatorPriceGuide.com. I currently have about 1,100 glass insulators in VNM or better condition in my collection. They include a wide range of CD numbers, colors, and embossing variations. Most are displayed on a set of backlit shelves in a dedicated room. My collecting priorities are CD Number, Primary Embossing, then Color. I currently have 325+ unique CD numbers and 150+ unique Primary Embossing variations, all in a wide variety of colors. While I am not really a dealer, I often acquire a number of insulators in the course of looking for a few for my own collection. The extras are put up for sale so as to keep them in the hobby. They are offered on ICON, at shows, or to visitors at my home. I also buy collections if they contain anything that I'm personally looking for. I'm a lifetime member of the National Insulator Association (NIA) and have held several volunteer positions in the organization. The NIA is a great organization. I would invite every collector to join. Get out to an insulator show and meet some really fine people.
