Here are some photos and descriptions of some CD 102 Diamond Pony embossing and color variations.

CD 102 Diamond Teal Green Ponies
CD 102 Diamond Teal Green Ponies This is another example of an insulator in a tall version of mold style 2 that was purchased from another collector who purchased it as a dark teal green. It is a different color for this mold style. I just call it Mallard green. Another collector has called it leaf green. Color is in the eye of the beholder.

Teal Blue CD 102 Bar Diamond
Teal Blue CD 102 Bar Diamond Bar Diamond ponies do come in blue teal and midnight blue. It is hard to tell due to all the nice amber swirls but I suggest that this bar diamond is teal blue.

Bar Bar CD 102 Teal Blue W/Swirls
Bar Bar CD 102 Teal Blue W/Swirls The Bar Bar CD 102 Canadian pony can be found in midnight blue and teal blue if you are lucky to find one. I suggest that this example is teal blue with loads of amber swirls.

CD 102 Diamond W/ 1/3 diamond and Skirt Number
CD 102 Diamond W/ 1/3 diamond and Skirt Number I have found the CD 102 Diamond pony embossed on front with a diamond and on the rear skirt with a 1/3 diamond and a number in six colors. Root beer amber, yellow amber, orange amber, olive green, yellow olive green and midnight blue. All examples found have the 18 on the skirt with a backwards "1". This is a picture of the midnight example.

CD 102 Diamond W/ Backward Skirt Number
CD 102 Diamond W/ Backward Skirt Number
I have found the CD 102 Diamond pony with the single diamond on the front skirt and a backwards number on the rear skirt in many colors. These are two cobalt Diamond ponies with the backward skirt numbers. The Diamond pony in cobalt is the same color as the Mulford & Biddle Cobalt CD 735 threadless insulator. Mark Lauckner called these Vivid Blue in his Field Guide. I know of only six of these. If you have one of the cobalts and I have not contacted you for my study please email me directly.

CD 102 Diamond in Midnight W/ Backward Skirt No.
CD 102 Diamond in Midnight W/ Backward Skirt No. I have found the CD 102 Diamond pony with the single diamond on the front skirt and a backwards number on the rear skirt in many colors. This is an example of a CD 102 Diamond pony with a backwards "2" on the rear skirt.

CD 102 Diamond W/ Backward "9" on Rear Skirt
CD 102 Diamond W/ Backward "9" on Rear Skirt I have found the CD 102 Diamond pony with the single diamond on the front skirt and a backwards number on the rear skirt in many colors. This is an example of one in midnight blue with the backward "9" on the rear skirt.

CD 102 Diamond [135] Blot Out
CD 102 Diamond [135] Blot Out There has been some question about the existence of the CD 102 Diamond [135]. I believe that this is actually the same insulator as the B.T.C. blotted out ponies listed under B.T.C. in the Price Guide. You really have to look close at these insulators to see that actually there are little circles for blot outs on one side and a "fill in the letter" type blot out on the other side. Depending on the insulator the diamond on either side can be non existent. I have a light purple, a green olive and two bright blue midnights. All of mine are from the very same mold! You can barely see the diamond in this picture.

CD 102 Diamond W/ Number Rear Skirt
CD 102 Diamond W/ Number Rear Skirt The CD 102 Diamond [140] ponies with the forward number on the rear skirt come in a variety of numbers and colors. This example is a forward 16 in midnight blue.

CD 102 Diamond Teal Green Ponies
CD 102 Diamond Teal Green Ponies
I believe that the true teal green pony is a single diamond pony in mold style 3. There may be some, but I have not seen what I call a true teal green pony in the mold style 1 skirt numbered ponies. Since this is a specialty of mine I'd like to see and even own one. This picture is two examples of what some collectors call dark teal green. To me these are midnight blues or teal blues with so much amber in them that they appear teal green. These are mold style 3.
